Re-signalling works on the Norwich to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft routes

Network Rail is modernising the Wherry lines, to increase reliability and safety for passengers and road users. This includes a 23-day period of work in February. We will bring you updates about the scheme and how it will affect your journey on this page.

Network Rail will complete the modernisation of the Wherry lines by switching on a new computer-controlled signalling system, and upgrading level crossings, increasing reliability and safety for passengers and road users. Additional work is taking place to maximise the time to renew track, replace a bridge a Postwick and maintain the swing bridges at Reedham and Somerleyton.
