Greater Anglia invests in new ticket vending machines at key stations

22

Oct 2012

Greater Anglia has commenced a programme to invest £270k to install 30 new and additional automatic ticket vending machines at 13 of its key stations across the company’s network in London and East Anglia.

The new ticket machines replace the existing Shere Fast card only operated machines, which are reaching the end of their life, and will provide improved availability and a consistent method of ticket-purchasing facilities either from the ticket office or the automatic machines.

Equipped with the most up-to-date and customer-friendly screen layout helping to simplify the method for ticket purchase by reducing the number of steps to complete a ticket transaction, the new machines will also allow customers to collect pre-booked tickets.

This investment in 30 new Shere ticket machines will see new machines located at: Colchester North (1), Rayleigh (1), Wickford (1), Ely (1), Bishops Stortford (1), Enfield Town (1), Harlow Town (1), Cheshunt (1), Chelmsford (2), Cambridge (3), London Liverpool Street (4), Tottenham Hale (2) and Stansted Airport (11).

Andrew Camp, Commercial Director, Greater Anglia said: “This significant investment will help to improve the ticket retailing service we are able to provide customers at many of our key stations.”
