Ipswich to Lowestoft

Woodbridge Tide Mill

For Woodbridge, Beccles, Oulton Broad and the Sunshine Coast at Lowestoft

The East Suffolk Line links villages, ancient treasures, and some of the best walking and cycling countryside in Suffolk. From historic Ipswich, travel to Woodbridge and be intrigued by the picturesque tide mill on the River Deben. On the opposite bank is Sutton Hoo, the Royal Anglo-Saxon burial site with a fascinating visitor centre. Continue through countryside criss-crossed with tracks and footpaths, to the riverside town of Beccles, a gathering place for boating holidaymakers on the southern Broads. The line follows the Waveney Valley to Oulton Broad. Hire a canoe or a day boat and explore the waterways, or continue to the sea and sands of Lowestoft at the eastern most point of England.
