Abellio Greater Anglia has completed a programme to upgrade platforms at six stations across the region’s rail network.

Rail passengers in the region are now benefiting from resurfaced platforms, including replacement copers (slabs at the platform edge) and tactiles (the contoured slabs next to the copers which warn passengers both visually and by their texture of approach to the edge of the platform) at Attleborough, Brampton, Great Chesterford, Kennett, Needham Market and Roydon stations.

In addition, repairs have been carried out to the buildings and canopies at Needham Market, Prittlewell, Hockley and Great Chesterford stations.

This work was funded by the Department for Transport to help enhance station facilities for customers.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Customer Service Director, Andrew Goodrum, said, “This large scale programme of platform upgrades across the region results in a safer, smarter and more pleasant station environment for our customers. Abellio Greater Anglia is committed to upgrades at stations across the network to make our customers’ journeys better.”
