Two Abellio Greater Anglia employees have been recognised at the first ever Abellio Achievement Awards.

Simon Pready, Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, and Tony Ellis, a Technician at Abellio Greater Anglia’s Ilford depot, scooped Achievement Awards for going the extra mile in espousing the Abellio group’s core values and improving performance.

Simon Pready won the ’Bringing Abellio Values to Life’ Award for his impressive work in leading all aspects of the Single Tender Award process for Abellio Greater Anglia. He was also nominated in the categories of ‘Abellio Way’ and ‘Leader’.

Tony Ellis, a technician at Abellio Greater Anglia’s Ilford depot, won the ‘Innovator’ Award for devising an innovative solution to upgrade and improve the CCTV system on Abellio Greater Anglia’s Class 317 train fleet. His ingenuity not only markedly enhanced the availability and reliability of the CCTV system, but also saved the company £250,000 in repair costs.

The Awards highlight the individuals and teams from across Abellio’s operating companies, comprising almost 13,000 employees, who deserve special recognition from the parent company.

Adam Golton, Managing Director at Abellio Greater Anglia, said, “We know that we have colleagues all over the network making a difference every day and I would like to congratulate Simon and Tony on this achievement. Recognising individuals and teams at a group level through the first ever Abellio Achievement Awards, will help to further drive a culture of excellence in everything we do and demonstrates the dedication and commitment of all our staff to provide excellent service and performance to our customers.”

The Awards ceremony was held last night (12th March) in Cheshire.
