Abellio Greater Anglia is one of the partners in the new Stansted Tourism Forum.

The new forum brings together tourism representatives from across the region in a partnership which aims to help boost leisure and business travel to the region.

The partners in the new venture include representatives of Stansted Airport, Visit Essex, Visit East Anglia, Herts Chamber of Commerce, Hertfordshire and Cambridge Country Councils, as well as Abellio Greater Anglia, who together hope to maximise opportunities for inbound tourism and help boost the regional economies.

Eleni Jordan, Abellio Greater Anglia’s Head of Sales said: “We're pleased to be part of this new forum, and working with our partners to encourage more visitors to the region. We recently launched additional train services between Stansted Airport and Cambridge, plus an extra early morning service on Friday and Saturday’s from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport, all of which will help support the regional tourism industry.”

The tourism industry in East Anglia is worth around £6bn, employing over 100,000 people, with overseas visitors making a significant contribution to the overall economic value. Stansted is the region’s major international airport and primary gateway for European visitors, serving over 160 direct connections and welcoming more than 18.5million passengers a year, over 50% of which are foreign visitors to the UK.
