Appointment of Steve Gumbrell

Abellio Greater Anglia has announced a new appointment to its senior management team.

Steve Gumbrell joins the regions’ train operator as the new Head of Marketing where he will lead marketing analysis, planning, strategy and campaigns for Abellio Greater Anglia products and services.

Steve was most-recently Head of Marketing Strategy at Transport for London (TfL), where he was an architect of the “Every Journey Matters” customer strategy (putting customer needs at the heart of TfL planning) and helped drive Oyster branding and digital and social media strategies.

He started at TfL as Marketing Manager for London Underground, where he oversaw the development of the Tube Improvement Plan campaign.

Prior to this, Steve was Interim Marketing Director at TGI Fridays where he increased customers, revenue, margin, spend per head, Guest Experience and brand reputation.

He started his career in marketing agencies, where clients included BAA Rail Strategy Group and the launch of Croydon Tramlink in May 2000.

Commenting on his appointment, Steve said, “I am pleased to join Abellio Greater Anglia and look forward to working with my team to create and develop products and services that will encourage more people to consider rail travel as a great way to explore and commute in East Anglia.”
