A lighting upgrade at Brentwood rail station is set to improve the station environment for customers.

Abellio Greater Anglia is working to create an improved station appearance and ambience with better levels of lighting, helping to improve safety and security.

The existing orange-coloured lighting will be replaced by brighter white lights in all public areas. New flood lights will also be installed in the station car park and the design of these has been carefully chosen to create a well-lit car park while at the same time minimising light pollution to neighbours.

Colin MacConnachie, Area Customer Service Manager, said, “I look forward to welcoming customers to a brighter, safer station as this upgrade is completed. Investing in upgrades to stations across the network is extremely important to Abellio Greater Anglia, demonstrating our commitment to providing excellent facilities and service to our customers.”

The station is also set to benefit from the installation of lift access to the platforms, a project which is being delivered in partnership with Network Rail and is due to be completed by the end of the current franchise.
