Customer improvements on the Bittern Line
Passengers on the Bittern Line are set to benefit from improved facilities following a boost from the local community rail partnership.
New Customer Information Screens are now in place at Cromer, Sheringham and Hoveton and Wroxham Rail Stations which give passengers access to up-to-the-minute information regarding services along the Bittern Line.
James Reeve, Area Customer Services Manager for Abellio Greater Anglia, said: “This will help to improve the passenger experience for those using the line. We are always looking for ways to strengthen communication with customers and the screen will provide live information.
“The Bittern Line plays an important role in the community linking the beautiful north Norfolk coast to the heart of Norwich city.”
The Bittern Line has seen a growth in the number of passengers over the past year following the hourly Sunday service between Norwich and Sheringham.
The new screens represent an investment of more than £20,000 and were funded by the Bittern Line Community Rail Partnership.
Ted Gadsden from the Bittern Line Community Rail Partnership, said: “The line is vital for those who lack access to private transport. Some of the stations are unmanned and the screens are essential in helping to provide information for customers.”
