Easter Weekend Improvement Works

During the Easter Weekend Network Rail will be undertaking improvement works which will affect services on a number of routes across our network.

Works will include improvements to the Overhead Lines between Stratford and Maryland to prevent a repeat of the issues experienced during the high temperatures in 2011, work to replace key sections of track and signalling on some lines between Bethnal Green, Seven Sisters and Clapton, ongoing work to lay new tracks in the Stowmarket area and further work on the signalling system on the East Suffolk Line (Ipswich to Saxmundham and Lowestoft)

Good Friday (6th April) and Easter Monday (9th April): A normal Sunday timetable will be in operation on routes not affected by the engineering work changes outlined below. There are some minor changes to the usual timetables and customers are advised to check prior to travelling.

Services between London Liverpool Street and Enfield Town and services between Bishops Stortford and Stratford:

All day on 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th April services in both directions will start/terminate at Seven Sisters. Customers wishing to travel to/from central London should use London Underground Victoria Line services where Greater Anglia tickets will be valid.

Services between London Liverpool Street and Cambridge/Stansted/Hertford East:

All day on 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th April services will be diverted via Stratford between Tottenham Hale and Liverpool Street in both directions. Journey times may be slightly extended and customers, particularly those travelling to Stansted Airport, are advised to leave additional time for their journey.

Services between London Liverpool Street and Chingford:

All day on 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th April services will run between Chingford and Walthamstow Central only in both directions. Customers travelling to/from Central London should use London Underground Victoria Line services.

Services between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield, Southend, Colchester, Clacton, Ipswich and Norwich:

On 6th April and until 21:00 on 7th April a reduced service will run on all routes and customers are advised to check their journey prior to travelling.

After 21:00 on Saturday 7th April and all day on 8th and 9th April there will be no trains between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield in both directions.

Trains to/from Colchester, Clacton, Ipswich and Norwich will start/terminate at Ingatestone where a replacement bus will run to Newbury Park Underground station (Central Line) for connections to/from London Liverpool Street.

Trains to/from Southend Victoria will start/terminate at Shenfield.

A replacement bus service will run to all stations between Shenfield and Romford and then on to Newbury Park Underground station (Central Line) for connections to/from London Liverpool Street. Customers for stations between Romford and Stratford should use London bus number 86.

Services between Ipswich and Lowestoft: On Sunday 8th April, buses will replace trains between Ipswich and Saxmundham in both directions.

Customers Travelling from Norwich to the Norwich vs Tottenham Hotspur game on Monday 9th: An additional train service will run to assist customers travelling to this match. Full details are here: http://ow.ly/a6bwL
