A new guide to exploring Essex by train has arrived at train stations and tourist information centres to highlight the wealth of interesting places you can visit this summer, by train.

Produced by the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership (CRP), the leaflet aims to give people all the knowledge they need to make their day out an enjoyable one.

Complete with a user friendly map and guide to top visitor destinations along the route, the booklet offers choices to suit families and couples alike.

Jayne Sumner of the Community Rail Partnership said:

“We want to show people that the rural railways in Essex are a wonderful way of enjoying a day out without the hassle of driving and parking. There are so many attractions on our doorstep and with our own coast line; you can’t beat Essex for a day out! We’ve created this leaflet to give people all the information they need before they travel.”

Jonathan Denby, Head of Corporate Affairs for Abellio Greater Anglia said:

“The CRP has produced a comprehensive guide to a day out along the branch lines of Essex. We serve some fantastic villages, coastline and stop very close to many of Essex’s top attractions. This leaflet is a great way of showing off Essex to potential visitors.”

The leaflet can be picked up in tourist information offices in Essex and many Abellio Greater Anglia stations within Essex and Greater London.
