To kick-start a healthier, greener 2015, Abellio Greater Anglia is offering free cycle hire to new Bike and Go registrants.

Until 31st March, anyone who signs up to the Bike and Go scheme for just £10 and enters the promotional code BIKE14 will receive two free 24-hour cycle rentals (worth £3.80 each).

The discount is aimed at encouraging more people to try ‘Bike and Go’, the new cycle hire scheme which is now available at Bishop’s Stortford, Clacton On Sea, Colchester, Ely, Enfield Town, Great Yarmouth, Harold Wood, Ipswich, Lowestoft, Manningtree, Romford, Southend Victoria and Stowmarket stations.

The ‘Bike and Go’ initiative is the UK’s first major station cycle hire programme, which offers rail passengers the opportunity to hire a bike at their local station for an onward journey.

Providing low cost, rapid and convenient cycle rental, Bike & Go, currently available at 13 stations operated by Abellio Greater Anglia to offer rail passengers greater choice about how they make their door-to-door journeys and is modelled on the Dutch Railways OV-fiets station cycle hire scheme.

The cycles are high quality and registration costs just £10 for the annual subscription, which is easily done via the website at: www.bikeandgo.co.uk, and the daily hire cost at £3.80 (less than the cost of many bus fares) is competitively priced.

Andrew Goodrum, Abellio Greater Anglia’s Customer Service Director, said, “For those looking for a healthier, greener travel choice to and from the rail station, Bike & Go is competitively priced and easy to use. Now is a great time to give the scheme a try, with two free rentals if you sign up by 31st March offering even greater value.”
