Gold Investor In People Award for Abellio Greater Anglia’s Operations Team

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Operations team has been awarded the prestigious ‘Investors in People’ Gold Standard, joining the top 7% of accredited organisations across the UK, for its progressive approach to business improvement through its people.

Around 1250 members of staff work in the train operator’s Operations Team which includes train crew, train planning, training and simulator managers, train performance and rostering.

The team was able to demonstrate that they have exceeded the 39 requirements needed to secure the IIP Standard, since achieving Bronze in 2010 and Silver in 2011, plus an additional 130 evidence requirements that led to them achieving the Gold Standard.

The award shows that the Operations team takes a forward thinking and expansive approach to cascading best practice through every level of the organisation.

In his report, Bruce McRae, the IIP Assessor commented that, “The Operations Team has effectively encouraged employees to develop a more engaged approach to their development and that of the organisation as a whole. People feel that there has been a continued drive to improve performance and motivate employees to take responsibility for their performance and that of their team.”

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Head of Train Crew, Stuart Robinson, said: “The award of ‘Investors in People’ Gold Standard for our team is another key milestone in our approach to offering customers a consistent, professional and high-quality standard of service. Other teams within Abellio Greater Anglia to hold the accreditation include the Catering Team (Silver Standard), Revenue Protection Team (Silver Standard) and the Customer Contact Centre (Gold Standard).
