Greater Anglia has completed a programme to invest £400k to install 28 new and additional automatic ticket vending machines at 21 of its key stations across the company’s network in London and East Anglia.

The new ticket machines are card only operated and will complement the existing machines at these stations, providing improved availability of ticket-purchasing facilities either from the ticket office or the automatic machines.

Equipped with the most up-to-date and customer-friendly screen layout helping to simplify the method for ticket purchase by reducing the number of steps to complete a ticket transaction, the new machines will also allow customers to collect pre-booked tickets.

This further initiative to improve the service offered to customers at stations and ticket offices follows work to upgrade Greater Anglia’s existing ticket machines with the new customer-friendly screen lay-out.

This investment in 28 new ticket machines completes another of Greater Anglia’s key franchise commitments, with the machines located at: Romford (4), Norwich (3), Billericay and Chelmsford (2) and at, Audley End, Brentwood, Chadwell Heath, Colchester, Edmonton Green, Ely, Forest Gate, Goodmayes, Harlow Town, Hertford East, Ipswich, Manor Park, Seven Kings, Shenfield, Walthamstow Central, Ware and Wickford.

Andrew Camp, Commercial Director, Greater Anglia said: “This significant investment will help to improve the ticket retailing service we are able to provide customers at many of our key stations.”
