Greater Anglia's Colchester Station Awarded Accolade

Greater Anglia’s Colchester Station has been awarded a ‘Golden Key’ by Fair Access to Colchester.

Fair Access to Colchester is a group set up to promote accessibility in the borough of Colchester; they created the Golden Key Awards in order to reward businesses when they have an excellent standard of accessibility.

Fair Access to Colchester has been impressed with the improved access at the station and the extensive changes which have been made, creating a very positive travelling experience for people with disabilities. They feel that a wide range of disabilities have been taken into account when the improvements were made at the station.

Jade Hamnett, Chair of Fair Access to Colchester said: “Given the improvements to accessibility which have been made at Colchester station, our members unanimously voted to award the station our first Golden Key award. We would like to thank Greater Anglia for creating such a positive environment for people with disabilities at Colchester station.”

Sham Rashid, Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Services Manager said: “We are delighted to be the first recipient of a Golden Key award. I’d like to thank my colleagues at Greater Anglia and our rail industry partners for all the work they have contributed to making Colchester station more accessible.”
