Improvement work starts at Hockley rail station

Rail passengers are benefiting from improvements to Hockley rail station as Abellio Greater Anglia continues work to refurbish the station buildings, canopy, platforms and footbridge.

Work carried out so far includes:

  • canopy renewal and redecoration on both platforms;

  • repairs to buildings and walls throughout the station

  • vegetation clearance;

  • an upgrade of the electrical connection between the platforms.

The remainder of the work will be carried out during the weekends of 12/13th March and 19/20th March and includes:

  • repairs to both platforms, including resurfacing, spot replacement of damaged copers (slabs at the platform edge);

  • installation of new drainage;

  • footbridge renovation.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, Flavio Lopes, said, “This significant programme of work at Hockley station will result in a safer, smarter and more pleasant station environment for our customers.
