Abellio Greater Anglia’s discount children’s fare is set to continue thanks to the success of the scheme, which last year saw over 20,000 children enjoying a cheaper day out by rail.

The train operator is continuing to offer the special £2 off-peak fare for children aged between five and 15 on most routes across the network.

The walk-up discount fare, which means that accompanying children travel for less than the price of a sandwich, offers thousands of families the opportunity to leave the car at home and enjoy a great value day out by train.

Andy Camp, Abellio Greater Anglia’s Commercial Director said: “We introduced this offer in response to customer feedback so we are delighted that it proved popular, seeing thousands of families across East Anglia enjoying a bargain day out with us. The offer will now continue and means that families can enjoy a day out for less by rail this Easter and throughout the year.”

Children must be accompanied by an adult with an off-peak or super off-peak ticket, including a group of adults with GroupSave discounted tickets and can only be purchased at rail stations as a walk-up fare.

The offer can be combined with Abellio Greater Anglia’s exclusive 2FOR1 entry vouchers to some of London’s top attractions such as Madame Tussauds, the SEA LIFE London Aquarium, the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the London Dungeon, Tower Bridge Exhibition, and ZSL London Zoo.

There are over 150 2FOR1 attractions offers up for grabs, with something for everyone. The full list of 2FOR1 vouchers can be viewed and downloaded at www.abelliogreateranglia.co.uk/2FOR1 and are valid on the production of a rail ticket (see website for full terms and conditions).
