The Mayor of Attleborough, Tony Perkins, is to visit Attleborough rail station to find out how rail passengers are benefiting from a refurbishment project.

Mr Perkins will meet with representatives of Abellio Greater Anglia at 10.15am on Tuesday 26th January to view the recent improvements completed by train operator.

The upgrade work included:

  • The complete resurfacing of platform 1, including replacement copers (slabs at the platform edge) and tactiles (the contoured slabs next to the copers which warn passengers both visually and by their texture of approach to the edge of the platform) and improvements to drainage and repairs to the station building and fencing;

  • The complete resurfacing of platform 2, including replacement copers and tactiles, as well as removal of vegetation, redecoration of the waiting shelter, additional lighting and new platform drainage.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, Neil Grabham, said, “Abellio Greater Anglia is committed to upgrading stations across the network to improve the travelling experience. The improvements carried out at Attleborough station result in a safer, smarter and more pleasant station environment for our customers.”
