Passengers using Melton and Woodbridge rail stations, on the East Suffolk Line, are benefiting from a better station environment, thanks to improvements carried out by Abellio Greater Anglia.

Both stations have been repainted in Abellio Greater Anglia colours, including all timber, steel work and lighting columns.

At Melton, the station lighting has also been upgraded.

Neil Grabham, Head of Customer Service - East, said, “I am pleased that work is now complete to improve Melton and Woodbridge stations. Investing in upgrades to stations across the network is extremely important to Abellio Greater Anglia, demonstrating our commitment to providing excellent facilities and service to our customers.”

The improvements follow the installation of a new ticket machine and CCTV at Halesworth (also on the East Suffolk Line) in June which was part-funded by Suffolk County Council and the Designated Community Rail Development Fund.

An additional 25,000 passenger journeys were made in 2014 on the line which runs from Ipswich to Lowestoft – bringing the annual total to a record 675,000 passenger journeys.
