Greater Anglia has launched a new special ticket for couples, perfect for a Valentine’s getaway to the Capital.

The new ‘Duo’ ticket offers a 25% overall discount for couples travelling to London at weekends (when two adults purchase a Super Off Peak Day Return, one of them receives a 50% discount off the ticket price).

The ‘Duo’ is available from Colchester and Chelmsford plus all stations on the mainline route from Manningtree and stations south thereof, including the branch line services from Braintree, Clacton-on-Sea / Walton-on-the-Naze and Harwich (it is not available for travel from stations in the London Zones 1 to 6 Travelcard area).

London is one of the world’s top Valentine destinations and with Greater Anglia’s great new fare more couples can enjoy the unique events that the capital has to offer for less.

Special Valentine’s events in the Capital include a Champagne Experience for two on the London Eye, a Valentine’s Tea Dance at the East Wintergarden, Thames dining cruises, Valentine’s Jazz at the Royal Albert Hall, a Valentine’s Day Concert with love poems at St Martin-in-the-Fields or ‘Love in the Natural World’ at the Natural History Museum.

With Greater Anglia, rail passengers can also save on admission to 50 shows including musicals, plays, dance and opera at the reduced rates of £10, £15, £25 and £35 for performances until 15 February 2013 by booking through www.getintolondontheatre.co.uk

Greater Anglia’s Commercial Director, Andrew Camp, said, “With our great value off peak fares and special deals with attractions in the Capital, couples taking the train to London can sit back, relax and enjoy a Valentine’s getaway for less.”

Advance fares and Group Travel can also be booked via the website at www.greateranglia.co.uk for savings on off peak travel at weekends.

The ‘Duo’ ticket can be booked online at www.greateranglia.co.uk or at your local station.
