Thetford railway station has come out on top of a series of mystery shopping surveys carried out at Abellio Greater Anglia rail stations.

In the most recent assessment period (2 – 29 March 2014), the station, on the popular Norwich – Cambridge line, scored 100% in three out of four assessment categories.

Thetford station ranked third overall in the league table with a score of 93.39% and scored 100% each for information provision, the standard of the toilet facilities and safety and security.

Area Customer Services Manager, Paul Stannard, said, “The station has benefitted from some attractive information boards provided in partnership with Breckland Council and the Brecks Partnership which have helped to provide an attractive welcome to the station. Recognition for this great score must also go to our amazing team of dedicated adopters and Abellio Greater Anglia employees who work so hard to keep the station, and the station gardens, in excellent order and create a feeling of pride for this station amongst local people.”

All Greater Anglia rail stations are regularly assessed by mystery shoppers for the standard of their facilities and level of customer service.

Greater Anglia’s Customer Service Director, Andrew Goodrum, said, “I am pleased to see that the improvement in standards at Thetford station has been recognised, as shown by this good mystery shopping score. We still have some work to do to achieve even higher scores in the future, but this is a good start and demonstrates our commitment to continuously improving customer service and creating a welcoming environment for station users.”
