Through our partnership with Network Rail, we are working together closely with our colleagues and focused on doing all we can in delivering more consistent and further improving levels of train service performance for our customers.

“On our Mainline route, we have listened to feedback and taken steps to provide the planned capacity on our Intercity services more consistently. On our Rural network, some reliability issues affected services on the branch lines out of Ipswich and Norwich in particular. We are working hard with our industry partners to resolve these issues.

“We’re also working with Network Rail through our Alliance partnership to avoid a repeat of the increase in recent route improvement work overruns, as part of our efforts which are concentrated on improving punctuality and train service reliability.”

· The measure of train punctuality known as PPM (public performance manager) means trains arriving at their destinations within five minutes for commuter services and within 10 minutes for long distance (Intercity) services.
