Train Performance for Period 2 (4 weeks ended 24 May) is 92.6%

Train punctuality for Abellio Greater Anglia in the most recent four-week period ended 24 May 2014 is 92.6%, as published by Network Rail in the latest public performance measure (PPM) national train performance figures for the rail industry Period 2 (2014/15). The national performance figure for Period 2 covering all Britain’s railways is 91.8%.

In the route-by-route punctuality figures for Abellio Greater Anglia in Period 2, West Anglia route punctuality is 95.3%; Stansted Express 94.9%; Metro & Southend 92.4%; Rural 92.3% and Mainline 88.7%.

The current moving annual average (MAA) performance figure to the end of Period 2 for Abellio Greater Anglia is 91.4% (this measures the average punctuality for the past 13 periods of train performance).

The specific MAA for the Stansted Express route is continuing to improve to 90.95% which is the highest since the current structure for the Greater Anglia rail franchise was set-up in 2004.

Jamie Burles, Managing Director, Abellio Greater Anglia said: “We are continuing to deliver train service performance above the national average, although the engineering work overrun at Colchester on 19 May and a fatality at Ilford on 17 May particularly affected our mainline route performance this period. Through our alliance with Network Rail we are working to achieve further improvement in punctuality for our customers.”

• The measure of train punctuality known as PPM (public performance measure) means trains arriving at their destinations within five minutes for commuter services and within 10 minutes for long distance (Intercity) services.
