Train performance for Period 4 is 89.6%

Train punctuality for Abellio Greater Anglia in the most recent four-week period ended 19 July 2014 is 89.6%, as published by Network Rail in the latest public performance measure (PPM) national train performance figures for the rail industry Period 4 (2014/15). The national performance figure for Period 4 covering all Britain’s railways is 91%.

In the route-by-route punctuality figures for Abellio Greater Anglia in Period 4, West Anglia route punctuality is 93%; Metro & Southend 90.3%; Stansted Express 90.2%; Rural 87.6% and Mainline 85.6%.

Period 4 was a difficult period of performance where a number of infrastructure and train failures, fatalities and trespass incidents, and lightning strikes and flooding adversely affected punctuality.

The current moving annual average (MAA) performance figure to the end of Period 4 for Abellio Greater Anglia is 91% (this measures the average punctuality for the past 13 periods of train performance).

Jamie Burles, Managing Director, Abellio Greater Anglia said: "I am sorry for the disruption that affected train services during this period. We are acutely aware that recent levels of service reliability and punctuality have fallen below expectation. We are working together with our colleagues at Network Rail to overcome these difficulties, with our immediate efforts focused on improving infrastructure and signalling equipment reliability in and around Liverpool Street Station."

·The measure of train punctuality known as PPM (public performance measure) means trains arriving at their destinations within five minutes for commuter services and within 10 minutes for long distance (Intercity) services.
