Hiring a bike from an Abellio Greater Anglia rail station has just become even easier!

Bike & Go, the cycle hire scheme which offers rail users the opportunity to continue their journey by bike, has introduced a new ‘spontaneous subscriber’ scheme to allow Abellio Greater Anglia passengers to take advantage of the sunny weather.

Under the new initiative, users simply need to register their card details online and pay the annual £10 subscription fee. They will then be emailed a user number, which they can take along to their desired station’s ticket office to verify their subscription and allow immediate bike hire.

Kaj Mook, Bike & Go Director said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this enhanced service, which will allow customers to make the most of the beautiful weather we’re currently enjoying. Users can subscribe via smart phones, tablets at the station or online at home before heading to the station to pick up their bike.”

Andrew Goodrum, Abellio Greater Anglia’s Customer Service Director, said, “For those looking for a healthier, greener travel choice to and from the rail station, Bike & Go is competitively priced and easy to use. Now it is even easier to hire a bike so it’s a great time to give the scheme a try.”

Bike & Go is available at London Liverpool Street, Bishop’s Stortford, Clacton On Sea, Colchester, Chelmsford, Ely, Great Yarmouth, Ipswich, Lowestoft, Manningtree, Southend Victoria and Stowmarket rail stations.

Bike & Go is supported by the Department for Transport, Merseyrail, Abellio Greater Anglia and Northern Rail. With a daily rental fee of just £3.80 for 24 hours, plus a £10 annual subscription cost, the scheme offers an enjoyable and easy way to complete a train journey by bike or just to enjoy the local area.
