Rail passengers using Diss, Stowmarket and Manningtree rail stations are to benefit from a better waiting environment thanks to an improvement scheme being carried out by Abellio Greater Anglia.

The work began on Monday 13th July to upgrade both waiting rooms and the toilet facilities.

The new waiting rooms will benefit from DDA compliant push button automatic doors, a train departure summary screen and energy-efficient heating, as well as new flooring and seating and redecoration in Abellio Greater Anglia colours. They will also offer passengers the opportunity to charge laptops and mobile phones and work while they wait with a specially made wall mounted work top with plug sockets and three bar stools.

The work is due to be completed later this summer and the waiting rooms and toilets will be out of use until the work is complete.
