A project to upgrade the platforms and waiting rooms at Kennett rail station has been completed by Abellio Greater Anglia.

Rail passengers are now benefiting from improvements to the station, which include:

  • Resurfaced platforms, including replacement copers (slabs at the platform edge) and tactiles (the contoured slabs next to the copers which warn passengers both visually and by their texture of approach to the edge of the platform)

  • Installation of new waiting shelters on both platforms

  • The demolition of redundant buildings

  • The installation of new cycle parking hoops, increasing the current cycle parking capacity from 12 to 18.

The work was carried out predominantly at night by SEE Rail Ltd to reduce disruption to our passengers.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, Neil Grabham, said, “This is a significant upgrade to Kennett station which has resulted in an improved ambience and more pleasant station environment for our customers. Abellio Greater Anglia is committed to upgrading stations across the network to make our customers’ journeys better.”
