Burnham Station Book Scheme Launched

Tuesday, 28 August 2012

Greater Anglia’s Burnham-on-Crouch station is now home to a new, mini lending library

This initiative has been set up in the waiting room of the Essex station by the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership and follows a similar, successful scheme at Greater Anglia’s Braintree station. Customers can borrow, swap or donate a book.

Jackie Gibbs Greater Anglia’s Head of Customer Service South-East said: “I welcome this initiative, set up by the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership. Having books in the station waiting room is a great idea and I hope many of our customers will be encouraged to participate in the scheme.”

The Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership embraces 5 routes: Harwich to Manningtree, Wickford to Southminster, Marks Tey to Sudbury, Braintree to Witham and Colchester to Clacton-on-Sea & Walton-on-the-Naze. The partnership works to promote the branch lines and engage with the local communities along the routes. To find out more about the partnership please log on to: www.esscrp.org.uk.
