Colourful floral displays are now on show at Colchester Station; thanks to a successful partnership between train operator Greater Anglia, the Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership (ESSCRP) and Colchester in Bloom.

Colchester in Bloom created the beautiful new arrangements at this busy Essex station, ranging from hanging baskets, to tubs and giant trugs, thanks to sponsorship from Greater Anglia and the ESSCRP.

The displays were planted up by volunteers from Colchester in Bloom, who kindly donated their time and expertise to create the stunning displays, whilst the day to day maintenance of the flowers is being undertaken by local Greater Anglia staff.

The variety of colours and plants brighten up the station, creating a more cheerful environment for both customers and staff.

Pam Schomberg, Chairperson of Colchester in Bloom said: “We were delighted to create these new floral displays at Colchester, for the benefit of everyone who visits the station. I’d like to thank Greater Anglia and the Community Rail Partnership for their support of this initiative.”

Sham Rashid Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager said: “The new floral displays have made a huge impact at Colchester station, creating an eye catching gateway to the town. We’ve had some really positive comments from customers and we’d like to say a very big thank you to the volunteers from Colchester in Bloom who created them; we are delighted with the result.”
