A series of improvements at Colchester North rail station means that passengers are now enjoying better facilities and a more pleasant station environment.

Following a recent refurbishment of the station, Colchester North station has consistently achieved above target scores in mystery shopper surveys for the last five consecutive assessment periods.

Passengers have also been enjoying improvements such as a new coffee bar which has opened on platforms 1 and 2 and the installation of attractive new flower tubs, sponsored by Colchester in Bloom, which have been brightening up the station.

In the last period, which ran from the 22 July – 18 August 2012, the station scored 92% for the standard of its toilet facilities and 92% for security and safety.

All Greater Anglia rail stations are regularly assessed by mystery shoppers for the standard of their facilities and level of customer service.

Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, Sham Rashid, said, “I am pleased to see that Colchester North station is improving in the mystery shopping surveys. We still have some work to do to achieve even higher scores in the future, but this is a good start and demonstrates our commitment to continuously improving customer service and creating a welcoming environment for station users.”
