Local train operator Greater Anglia has made a donation of over £1,000 to Samaritans.

Greater Anglia is supporting Samaritans with a donation following the company’s recent safety culture survey, where a contribution is made to charity on behalf of the employees participating in the survey.

Employees who took part in the survey came from across the Greater Anglia network, including Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and London.

In total £1,169 was donated by Greater Anglia to the charity, as a result of the survey.

Michelle Smart Greater Anglia’s HR & Safety Assurance Director said: “Samaritans do tremendous work offering support to people and we are pleased to be able to help the vital work they do.”

Rachel Kirby-Rider, Executive Director for Fundraising and Communications said: “As a charity, Samaritans relies on donations. We are very grateful to Greater Anglia for their generous contribution, and are pleased at our growing links with the rail industry.”
