An investment of approximately half a million pounds is being made at train operator Greater Anglia’s Maryland station, as work gets underway on a significant improvement scheme.

Work has begun on a range of improvements which will see Maryland benefit from redecoration, repairs to the guttering and a complete re-roofing of the canopies on the station platforms. This work will significantly enhance the station environment for all who travel through this busy East London station.

Colin MacConnachie Greater Anglia’s Metro Area Manager said: “We’re really pleased that work is underway on a range of improvements at Maryland representing an investment of around half a million pounds at the station. Improving the customer experience is a priority for us and I’m delighted that Maryland station is one of the first stations to benefit from these efforts.”

Maryland station is located in the London Borough of Newham and is situated on the Liverpool Street to Shenfield route, served by Greater Anglia’s Metro services, which run at a 10 minute frequency of service for most of the day.
