Halloween Train Takes to the Rails For Lots of Spooky Fun

Following on from its successful launch last year, the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership is pleased to announce the return of the Halloween train.


Departing Manningtree Station at 16:26 on Sunday 28th October, the specially decorated train will run along the Mayflower Line to Harwich Town and back.


It promises to be an exciting and unique day out for families and fans of all things spooky on this Halloween themed train, with lots of family fun. Fancy dress is the order of the day, with a prize for the best outfit, plus there will be goody bags for each child, opportunities to face paint, and storytelling with a spooky theme.


Lucy Ainger, Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership Officer said: “We are pleased that the Halloween train is back for a return visit on the Mayflower line this year, following its successful launch last year. There will be family fun aplenty on board, so please do come along.”


James Steward, Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager said: “We’re delighted to be hosting a special event train once again on the Mayflower line; we look forward to welcoming the many families joining us for a fun and special day-out on the Halloween train.”


The Halloween train is a ticket only event, all ticket must be booked in advance and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased from MJM & Associates Financial Consultants 16 South St .Manningtree Essex For the round trip, the adult fare is £4.00, whilst children 12 and under travel for just £1. The spooky activities planned for this special train will be particularly attractive to children aged under 10 years.
