Work is underway at Greater Anglia’s Ipswich Station to upgrade the customer information screens in order to improve information provision for customers.

Ipswich is one of a number of Greater Anglia stations which are to benefit from a collective investment of £1.2m from the National Station Improvement programme fund.

The improvement work will see the old screens replaced with the latest LED technology, which will mean a real improvement in the provision of information for customers at the stations with brighter, clearer screens.

James Steward, Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Services Manager said: “We are pleased that work is underway to install new customer information screens at Ipswich station. The new screens will provide our customers with up-to-date information, in a clear, user-friendly format. These improvements demonstrate our commitment to improving information provision for our customers.”

Since the Greater Anglia franchise began in February 2012, the train operator has made a concerted effort to improve information provision for customers, through a number of means including; providing a free smartphone app, re-introducing a free sms text update service, providing website updates, improving the ‘twitter’ service and providing 1,600 frontline staff with BlackBerrys to ensure they can provide customers with more timely and accurate travel information.
