Greater Anglia’s Julie Winder and Dennis Harris have put their best foot forward for charity and taken part in the Great North Run.

Julie and Dennis have run in a local half marathon before, but decided to widen their experience and take part in the Great North Run. In preparation, they set themselves the task of running 3 short 5k runs during the week, with a longer run at weekends.

The training paid off and the couple finished the race in a respectable 2 hours 36 minutes, raising £400 for their chosen charity, CLIC Sargent.

Greater Anglia’s Julie Winder said “As we crossed the line we looked at each other realising we had done it, but hardly believing it. It is amazing to think we have been involved in the biggest half marathon in the world. I would like to say thank you to all of our colleagues for supporting and sponsoring us.”
