The Ocean Film Festival World Tour comes to East Anglia this autumn, promising inspirational and jaw-dropping cinematic footage of the sea, shot from above and below the water’s surface.

The festival, which originated in Australia and is now showing in the UK for the fourth year running, features a brand-new selection of the world’s best ocean-themed short films. Expect to see freedivers exploring eerie shipwrecks, nomadic sailors facing the icy waters of Antarctica and awe-inspiring marine life such as the endangered giant Pacific manta ray.

Highlights include Sea Gypsies, a film about a group of free-spirited seafarers who embark on an extraordinary 8,000-mile voyage from New Zealand to Patagonia amid iceberg-strewn waters; and Whale Chasers, which tells the story of a group of ‘citizen scientists’ in the Cook Strait, who have been studying the humpback whale population since the end of New Zealand whaling in 1964.

The Ocean Film Festival is in Cambridge on 6 October and Norwich on 7 October. To find out more and to book tickets, visit oceanfilmfestival.co.uk. To book your train travel, go to www.greateranglia.co.uk for the lowest fares
