Families can take a magical trip on the Santa Express to the Burnham Festive Fayre on Saturday 8 December.

Rudolph the Reindeer will join carol signers for plenty of fun on board the festively decorated 13.36 Greater Anglia train from Wickford to Burnham on Crouch and children will receive activity packs, sweets and lucky dips to keep them entertained on the journey.

Santa’s elves will be waiting for them at Burnham on Crouch station to lead the way to the Fayre and a free visit to Santa in his grotto.

The Santa Express has been organised by the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership.

Community Rail Officer, Lynda Stone said, “We’re delighted to partner with the Burnham Festive Fayre to help reduce traffic coming into the village and add an extra element of Christmas cheer to the event.”

Greater Anglia’s Community Partnerships Manager, Paul Haynes, said, “The Santa Express is a lovely way travel to the Fayre but also a really good choice as it’s great value, and is an opportunity to relax and have fun with the kids, as well as beat the traffic.”

Adult tickets are just £7.50, returning on any train, children are half price and under 5s go free.

Train tickets are available to purchase in advance or can be bought on the day at Wickford station or on board the train. Railcards and group save travel also apply.

Burnham’s Festive Fayre runs from 2pm until 6pm and features choirs, bell-ringers, stalls and Santa’s grotto.
