Rail replacement buses will run on part of the East Suffolk line this Sunday (12 August), while Network Rail carry out improvements to the tracks.

Greater Anglia is advising passengers travelling on the Ipswich to Felixstowe and Ipswich to Lowestoft lines this Sunday that buses will run instead of trains between Ipswich and Felixstowe and Ipswich and Woodbridge.

Trains will run as timetabled between Lowestoft and Woodbridge.

Normal services will run between Ipswich and Lowestoft throughout the day on Saturday 11 August.

Normal services will run between Ipswich and Felixstowe on Saturday 11 August until 18.50, from when trains will be replaced by buses to enable route upgrade works to take place

Alan Trett, Greater Anglia’s Assistant Area Customer Service Manager, said: “We would like to thank passengers for their patience while this work is carried out. This work is vital to maintain and improve the railway, and we have arranged a replacement bus service, where appropriate, so passengers will still be able to complete their journeys.

“We would ask passengers to check journey details before they travel, so they can plan accordingly.”

Details of all the alterations and any other service changes (including replacement bus timetables, where appropriate) are available at www.greateranglia.co.uk and at Ipswich and Woodbridge railway stations.
