Rail passengers at Greater Anglia stations had a spring in their step this morning as staff handed out free treats to commuters during the morning rush hour.

The Easter giveaway, which took place from 0700 this morning, saw rail staff give out over 12,000 packets of chocolate eggs to thousands of commuters at the busiest stations on the network.

Stations taking part included Audley End, Bishop’s Stortford, Brimsdown, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Cheshunt, Colchester, Enfield Lock, Ely, Great Yarmouth, Hertford East, Harlow Town, Ipswich, Norwich, Liverpool Street, Lowestoft, Ponders End, Shenfield, St Margarets, Wickford, Waltham Cross and Ware.

Keely Pagdin, Head of Customer Service - West, said: “It’s to thank passengers for their custom and let them know that our staff are always there to help make life a little easier while travelling with us. We have received a lot of positive feedback from our customers and we are pleased they are enjoying their treats.”
