From the opening of The Pleasure Beach Great Yarmouth to the Farmers’ Markets springing up across the region, Greater Anglia is encouraging families to get out and explore this Spring.
To make it easier and even more convenient to travel by train, families can use a Family & Friends Railcard for a saving of up to a 1/3 OFF most rail fares. The card covers up to four adults and four children, with savings of up to a third on most adult rail fares and 60% savings on the cost of child fares. Families using the Family & Friends Railcard can also take advantage of Greater Anglia’s offers across some of East Anglia’s top attractions, where customers will receive 2FOR1 admissions or other great savings.

Marking the start of the summer season, the much-loved Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is once again opening its doors to locals and visitors alike on 24 March. The attraction is currently ranked in the top 10 leisure parks in the country and last year it had more than 1.1 million visitors. For a family fun day out for less this Spring, take the train to Great Yarmouth, saving money with a Family & Friends Railcard, then hit the rides having booked your Pleasure Beach wristbands in advance, saving a further 15% off the cost of the day.

Essex Big Weekend
Taking place over the 24th and 25th of March, The Essex Big Weekend is in partnership with Visit Essex and is all about celebrating what is great about the county and helping people to discover more about their local area. As part of the Big Weekend, the tourist board are giving residents the chance to enter a ballot to apply for free tickets to some of the best attractions in Essex. Sample the best of East Anglia at a local Farmers’ Market
Farmers’ Markets are a great way to sample local produce and soak up the atmosphere of a town, with many monthly markets happening across East Anglia. The Bury St Edmunds Farmers’ Market takes place on the second Sunday of every month and offers a firm promise that none of the produce will have travelled further than 30 miles. Avoid high car parking charges in the city centre, by taking the train and bring the whole family on an adventure through the local countryside.
