Greater Anglia is to become the preferred train partner of The O2, the world’s most popular music and entertainment venue, after its fast, frequent links to London have seen hundreds of thousands of people in the East of England travelling to events at the venue.

The partnership sees Greater Anglia customers enjoying the ability to book tickets for The O2 on the Greater Anglia website where they will also be able to get a third off train ticket prices when between three to nine people travel together off-peak with the Greater Anglia Groupsave deal.

They will also be able to take part in competitions to win free tickets to O2 shows.

Launching on 18 April, the partnership also means that people buying tickets from The O2 website will also be able to book their train tickets via the Greater Anglia widget on The O2’s site for added convenience.

Greater Anglia’s Commercial Director, Andy Camp, said: “We’re delighted to become the preferred rail partner of the O2. Taking the train to the O2 means that you can start enjoying the occasion from the moment you arrive at one of our stations, rather than sitting in traffic jams to London and worrying about where to park.

“Our train services connect hundreds of thousands of people with Stratford and a direct connection to the O2 via the frequent Jubilee line. We look forward to raising our profile as the O2’s preferred rail partner to highlight the benefits of travelling by rail to an even wider audience.”

Nathan Kosky, VP Global Partnerships, AEG Europe, said: “With so many fans travelling to our venue on the rail network, now is the perfect time for Abellio to join us as our new train partner. The deal will enable the Abellio team to reach 9m people each year through our website and in-venue marketing. We’re looking forward to working with them and welcoming them on board."
