Train operator, Greater Anglia, has introduced live occupancy information at some rail station car parks to help people with their journeys.
At 14 stations customers can now view current availability at the car park ahead of their visit, as well as expected occupancy for any given time or day of the week based on historical trend data.
The information is available via greateranglia.co.uk and Great Anglia Parking Portal - gaparking.co.uk
Simone Bailey, Greater Anglia’s Asset Management Director, said: “We know customers who drive to stations want to be able to park as quickly and easily as possible, which is why we’re committed to improving parking across the Greater Anglia network, making life a little easier for our customers.”

“We understand that for the majority of customers using these sites, parking is just a small part of their journey and we want to make this a seamless an experience as possible.
Live occupancy is currently available at Audley End, Broxbourne, Cambridge, Cheshunt, Colchester, Diss, Harlow Town, Hatfield Peverel, Ingatestone, Ipswich, Kelvedon, Rayleigh, Whittlesford and Wickford.
It is also planned for Billericay, Bishop’s Stortford, Manningtree, Marks Tey, Shenfield and Witham.
The new service is the latest in a series of car parking improvements as the train operator continues its transformation of the railway in East Anglia, which will see £60 million spent on stations during the course of its franchise and £1.4 billion spent on introducing a brand-new fleet of trains across the network.
Recent work has seen Shenfield and Manningtree stations significantly extended, Automatic Number Plate Recognition and easier ways to pay introduced at 20 stations, and improvements to surfaces, lighting and CCTV at station car parks across the network.
