Greater Anglia staff taking part in Wear It Pink Day today (Friday) raised more than £1,000 for Breast Cancer Now.

Staff at Colchester railway station raised £829 by dressing up in pink and selling pink cupcakes during the morning rush hour.

Two members of staff at Cambridge North station dyed their hair pink for the day and sold cookies to morning commuters. They raised more than £220.

Lisa Warren, who works in customer service at Colchester railway station, decided to raise money for charity after losing her mother to cancer 18 months ago.

Lisa said: “We would like to thank everyone for their kind donations and for making today extra special. Customers have been really generous when donating money. Everyone knows someone who is affected by cancer.”

It’s the second year that staff at Colchester station have taken part in this charity initiative, having raised £802 last year.
