Passengers at Battlesbridge rail station are set to experience an improved platform thanks to refurbishment work by Greater Anglia.

The platform is being resurfaced to create safer conditions underfoot and improve drainage.

New tarmac will be laid as well as replacement copers (slabs at the platform edge) and tactiles (the contoured slabs next to the copers which warn passengers both visually and by their texture of approach to the edge of the platform).

Greater Anglia’s Customer Service Director, Andrew Goodrum, said, “This upgrade will result in a safer, smarter and more pleasant station environment for our customers. Greater Anglia is committed to upgrades at stations across the network to make our customers’ lives a little easier.”
