There will be more trains and over 7,000 extra seats per week as Greater Anglia’s summer timetable begins this Sunday, 20 May.
Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s Commercial Director, said, “Our extra summer services to the capital and coast are back to help boost tourism, days out and shopping trips by train in East Anglia.
“We’re also keeping the 100,000 extra seats we created last year to ensure a more comfortable journey for the 1 million passengers we serve every week.”
Extra summer Sunday services will operate on the Norwich, Ipswich and Colchester to London route and between Norwich and Lowestoft, Ipswich and Peterborough and Ipswich and Felixstowe, as well as additional summer services on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays on the Norwich to Great Yarmouth line.
There will also be two extra services between Cambridge and Bishop’s Stortford.
Some services in the new timetable have been slightly retimed and there will be rail replacement services at weekends between Ipswich and Felixstowe due to engineering works.

Norwich – London (Sundays) from 20 May until 9 September
An additional 619 seats per service (2,476 in total on Sundays only) on these services:
Norwich to Liverpool Street - 08.20, 15.23 calling at Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich and Colchester
Liverpool Street to Norwich – 11.00, 1800 calling at Colchester, Ipswich, Stowmarket and Diss
Norwich to Lowestoft (Sundays only 20 May to 9 September)
The following additional Norwich to Lowestoft services will operate:
08.05, 10.05, 12.05, 14.05, 16.05, 18.05, 20.05 Norwich to Lowestoft
08.56, 10.56, 12.56, 14.56, 16.56, 18.56, 20.56 Lowestoft to Norwich
Ipswich to Peterborough (Sundays only 20 May to 9 September)
The following additional Ipswich to Peterborough services will operate:

Norwich - Great Yarmouth (Mondays/Fridays 23 July - 7 September. Saturdays 20 May - 8 September)
The following additional Norwich - Great Yarmouth services will run from 23 July until 7 September on Mondays and Fridays only (an additional 150 seats per service on Mondays and Fridays only - 1200 extra seats every Monday and Friday, 2400 in total) on these services:
Norwich to Great Yarmouth: 09.06, 10.25, 13.18 and 14.25
Great Yarmouth to Norwich: 09.52, 11.13, 13.52 and 15.42
The following additional Norwich – Great Yarmouth service will run on Saturdays from 20 May until 8 September (an additional 128 seats per service on Saturdays, 2048 extra seats in total) on these services:
Norwich to Great Yarmouth: 09.06, 09.55, 10.25, 11.20, 12.18, 13.18, 14.18 and 15.18
Great Yarmouth to Norwich: 09.47, 10.41, 11.15, 11.57, 12.55, 13.55, 14.55 and 15.55
