A new team dedicated to helping people travel safely during large-scale events has been introduced on Greater Anglia’s West Anglia route.

The team of six helps manage event crowds at Northumberland Park, Meridian Water and Tottenham Hale.

The area close to Northumberland Park and Meridian Water railway stations is going through a massive redevelopment programme with the opening of the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and more than 65 events – including NFL, boxing, concert, rugby and festivals – planned over the year at the stadium and nearby venues.

The new Spurs Stadium can hold more than 62,000 football fans, making it one of the largest stadiums in the Premier League and the largest club stadium in London.

During large scale events, which can see thousands of people travel by train, the team works to ensure trains arrive and depart on time, manage fast-moving queues, help people purchase the correct ticket and anyone needing ramp assistance.

Strategic planning is at the heart of team, who work tirelessly to ensure that stations are prepped and ready for event day crowds, and health and safety procedures are followed.

Canute Tyndale, Events Delivery Manager, said: “Thousands of people travel through these stations in a very short period of time during large-scale events, so it’s important that we keep people and trains moving.

“Our customers can feel good in the knowledge that they can turn up at the stations on events days to find a team of people who are ready to go the extra mile to support them on their journey.”
