Passengers using Broxbourne station will be better protected from the weather, thanks to the installation of a new waiting room.

Greater Anglia has commenced work to enclose the open waiting area with a glass ‘curtain wall’ which will keep out rain and drafts, providing a warm and comfortable waiting room.

The waiting room will be redecorated and also feature push-button automatic doors to improve accessibility, energy efficient heating, and new seating.

It will also offer passengers the opportunity to charge laptops, mobile phones and work whilst they wait thanks to the installation of plug sockets.

Simone Bailey, Greater Anglia’s Asset Management Director, said, “The new waiting room will offer passengers an improved, more comfortable waiting environment.

“Investing in upgrades to stations across the network is extremely important to Greater Anglia, demonstrating our commitment to providing excellent facilities and service to our customers.”

The work is due to be completed later in the autumn.
