A ticket office clerk who works at both Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft rail stations has been named Greater Anglia’s most ‘Inclusive Individual’.

Ann Kirkham won the award at the train operator’s ‘Everyday Legends Awards’ for her work to support local charities, including the ‘Help an East Coast Child’ appeal.

Greater Anglia’s area customer service manager, James Reeve, said, “Ann is such a friendly face at these stations and is pleasant and welcoming to everybody.

“Nothing is ever too much trouble and she is often around on her days off to lend a hand.

“That she also finds the time to organise station fundraisers and events is testament to her energy and dedication to making the station a great place for customers and staff alike.

“She thoroughly deserves this award.”

Other winners of Greater Anglia ‘Everyday Legend’ awards were Norwich station’s Nicola Garwood who was named Employee of the Year, Driver Scott Ward for his excellent announcements that bring a smile to passengers’ faces, Cambridge platform staff who won ‘Frontline Team of the Year’ and the Lee Valley area team for their performance initiative which is helping to reduce delays during peak times at Brimsdown and Ponders End stations.
