Visitors to London can travel all the way to the capital by train from East Anglia at weekends from now until the rest of the summer as no major engineering works are planned on Saturdays and Sundays for nearly three months.

Trains are due to run all the way into London every weekend for the rest of June, July and until the August Bank Holiday weekend.

There is just some work being carried out late at night and early in the mornings, and a few days on a branch line but the majority of weekend services are planned to run. Customers should check before they travel to plan their journey on the Greater Anglia website or app.

Jamie Burles, Managing Director, Greater Anglia, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to travel by train to London and also to the other great destinations across our network including, Cambridge, Norwich, Colchester and the region’s plentiful seaside resorts on the weekends.

“While there is still some very minor late night and early morning engineering work on weekends, a majority of our customers will be able to travel on our network without being affected by planned work.”

Greater Anglia has a range of great value fares and special offers, such as two for one at London attractions, available. Book through the Greater Anglia website to take advantage of the Price Promise – with the lowest fare guaranteed or the difference refunded. Passengers can also benefit from 2FOR1 offers in London. Enjoy 2FOR1 entry to over 150 attractions available when you go by train, with advance tickets, Groupsave and value fares available online and via the app. For a one-stop shopping trip, head to Westfield Stratford City this summer.
