Aviation enthusiasts can visit the Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show on 22 and 23 September for less this autumn, thanks to Greater Anglia.

The local train operator has partnered with the Imperial War Museum to offer a special package including train travel, a shuttle bus and entry to the event.

Historic aircraft including the Spitfire, Lancaster, Tornado and Red Arrows will take to the skies over the weekend, as part of an event which will celebrate the centenary of the RAF.

The Greater Anglia package includes return train tickets from Norwich, Stansted Airport or London Liverpool Street to Cambridge station, entry to Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show, a shuttle bus from Cambridge railway station, and a flight line walk which is available between 9am and midday.

Tickets cost £59.95 for one adult, or £89 for two. Children under 15 are free of charge.

Martin Moran, Greater Anglia’s Commercial and Customer Services Director, said: “We are always looking for ways to support local events, and are very pleased to have partnered with the Imperial War Museum to offer an exclusive rail package to Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show. With an increasing number of people travelling from overseas, we have also included a ticket from Stansted Airport.

“The package provides a great opportunity for people to enjoy a great day out by train, without the hassle of driving and parking. The packages also offer good value for couples and families who are looking for a day out with a difference.”
